My insurance is through Performers of the U.S. There's some controversy about their mandatory safety course but it's not really that big a deal. Get insurance before you do the show.

I use the reliable and easy to use Virtual Soundman iCue2. I bought three before Kelly went out of business. Before the iCue2 I used other Virtual Soundman products. Never had a problem.

It depends on the demographics. For high school or college, maybe 5 minutes. For corporate or comedy club audiences, 12 minutes max.
