Re-read your post... and STOP right after the sentence ..."It breaks my heart to see her like this". You can apply EVERYTHING to a regular "LOVE" relationship that young people go through.. no special hypnotic manipulation required.
I remember when I was young.. and in .. "LOVE" ( said in a high pitch dreamy voice..) and even I.. being a young man went through the same symptoms ... tumultuous and turbulent roller coaster ride of emotions from uber high on top of the world to depth of despair darkness crying in the middle of the day...
Shakespeare has many a play written with the same plot.. so to do the greeks and as far back as there have been Men and Women in "LOVE"... And parents watching their child go through it... I am sure that Euripides ached when he watched his only daughter Dianeostopolus go through it... ( fake Greek names... but you get the point)
Give her Love.. comfort.. support... lots of understanding and hugs.... I am not sure that hypnosis is the "cure" for something as immortal and timeless as.. "LOVE"....
