Update on the nursing stuff: Received another app. for general admission to the college today. It's true about the squeeky wheel getting the grease...taking a national nursing certification exam Sat. Sept. 20., downtown, 8:30 a.m. At least I don"t have to go through rush hour traffic. It's 4 hrs. long and it's only 2 wks. away. Have no idea what's on it. Do I need to practice self-hypnosis or what? LOL!

Yes, I am free from the no-compete contract. Positive Changes closed down here almost a year ago and I say, "Good Riddance!" I'm sure there are some franchises that are run very well but this was not one of them. Still, I never would have gotten into hypnosis otherwise.
I am doing a Melissa Roth course in Medical Hypnosis. I have a lot of medical background so it made sense. I should have completed it last year but I lost motivation for a while. I am wanting to go back to school and have applied to nursing school at Southwest TN Community College. I applied online a month ago and they have somehow "lost" my application even though they sent me a letter officially acknowledging my application! However, another person's name was on the letter and envelope even though the address was mine! I've been up there in person twice already and it still isn't resolved. Today the director of the nursing dept. left me a message saying she received my application for the nursing program but can't find any record of me applying for general admission first. I am calling her tomorrow and telling her what is going on but I still plan on making a formal complaint. There is no excuse for this incompetency. Even if I don't get accepted to the nursing dept. I would like to take some pre-requisite courses next semester (Jan. '09), but I can't do that unless I go through the general admission process first. I am SO pissed!
Other than that, everything else is groovy! If there were anywhere else to practice hypnosis around here I'd be doing that but there isn't unless you're a psychologist or psychiatrist! I would love to have a private practice but can't afford the overhead right now.
How is your practice doing? I like Nashville. Been there many times. It seems so much more progressive there and I definetly like the landscape better. I hope to move to Oregon eventually. I love the Pacific Northwest and I hate hot humid weather! I am really bored with Memphis but have to make the best of it for now. One major reason for becoming a nurse is to have more mobility and more options career-wise.
Now that you know my life story....didn't mean to ramble on. Thanks for your comments and I hope to meet you in person sometime.

I live in Memphs. I'm pretty much a Lone Ranger here, so Hypnothoughts has been a lifeline for me. I's great to see some more people from TN here! I was the only one for a while!
