I agree and disagree. You can help an ADHD person regain control of their life by helping them with the stress and the negative feelings that go with being "out of control". It doesn't change their basic nature, but it goes a long way toward helping them accept themselves. Beyond that I think specific, strategies are needed to deal with the tendencies to hyperfocus / lose focus and the hyperactivity/impulsivity.
