In my experience being a Hypnotist I attract people who want their thing to be changed quickly with hypnosis. HypnoTherapists attract the same person. In practical terms I see it this way. Hypnotists focus on the creation of the hypnotic state and…

1.) There is no practical difference; but in Texas only a licensed person can use the word therapist or the psych and counseling boards will go after that unlicensed person using the word therapy as part of a title. 2.) I think hypnotist (or as I c…

Erickson's Ocean Monarch Lecture

In the book Experiencing Hypnosis by Erickson and Rossi mention is made of a lecture that Erickson gave called the Ocean Monarch Lecture. The book used to come with a cassette recording of the lecture.

My copy of the book did not have the cassette. I've searched the web and various Erickson sites for an audio copy of the lecture without success. I have a text copy of the lecture. The audio copy of… Continue

Positive Hypnosis?

This field is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play.

Positive Psychology has three central concerns: positive emot… Continue

Trying to put together a multi-modality healing center in San Antonio, including hypnosis, massage, reiki, acupuncture and more. It's an interesting project. I'm also going to be in Austin tomorrow for a class that might interest you. It's a couple of forms of energy healing that are a bit *out there*, but a lot of fun. I can send you info if you want.

Hey Walt-

I may have asked you this before, but were/are you a computer science professor at Southwestern? Just wondering if you're the same Walt Potter I knew there.

Hello Walt, thank you for the friendship invitation. I have read many of your posts and comments over time. I usually read the posts on my phone but I cannot reply from there so I seldom contribute.

I actually live about 90 miles northwest of Austin but I have a sister that lives in Georgetown so maybe we can meet up sometime.

Have a great day!

Faster Alan. In my opinion this induction is Only useful in a stage or demonstration situation and as such it's simply more dramatic if you do it with a lot more energy! ;-)
