"Janet, Here's from a religious/pastoral counseling perspective: Many counselors just try to have the person process & re-process the loss, which often can take the boulder of grief off their hearts. At that point, they often are able to…"

The greater feeling of being in control and visualizing success is incorporated into the benefits approach. I have duel citizenship and have never really left Israel as a citizen or in my soal. I am there every year. My daughter and grandchildren live there. I work in both countries but my base is here for financial reasons. I believe as do the Breslev that it doesn't really matter where you are. If you are at the NGH conference maybe we can sit and discuss this further.

I think you covered a bit. I lived in Israel for eight years and I was there visiting my daughter a few months ago. I found that many people are afraid of the "magic", esspecially in the Chassidic communities. However when explaining how Hypnotherapy works some are open to try to work through some possibilities of guided imagery and imagination. I also found that people in the Chabad movement were more open to hypnosis and meditation as long as it took on a Chassidis feeling. I enjoyed working with someone that was having difficulty passing the driving exam in the Galil. The fear was failure in the eyes of her community. She now has a license. Just simply using the benefits approach.
P.S. Knowing the language helps.

Shalom Yisroel, I am interested in your Rabbinical Ordination and Interests in Hypnosis. I have heard many discussions about Rabbinical views on Hypnosis. It would be interesting to hear your point of view. LaHitraote.

I would like to take this discussion to the medical forum. I'm not sure how to copy what we've already said to that part of the site but I'll ask Mark the next time I talk to him. I think this is an important discussion and it needs to be opened up to the rest of the group. I am almost certain that most, if not all, of them are unaware of what is going on in the FDA---but they need to know. Would you be willing to do that? As moderator I want to encourage an open discussion but I do not let anyone jump anyone's case. I've had to get a couple of people to tone things down a bit but they did and it hasn't been a problem since. I'll even post a note that encourages respect for others opinions and civility and all that. I think it is partly our responsibility to educate people to the dangers of not knowing. So, are you up for it?
