Free educational tools on iTunes

In case you haven't already found out about this, iTunes U has complete courses for download; quite a few of them from Open University. Here's a link to Open University's list of their top downloads: http://www.open.edu/itunes/top-downloadsOne of them is Cognitive Psychology and another is an ebook on Addiction and Neural Ageing. I agree with Scott. I can see this as a PR stunt, but it's not very well-thought out. Think about the message it's giving. It's just reinforcing one of the negative myths we have to debunk all the time. Joshua

About Me:: I am a hypnotherapist (certified and member of the IACT and still learning as well), getting my practice up and going. I've long been interested in how the mind works in general, and hypnosis in particular. I chose Linguistics to get a BA in because it was one point all or most of my other interests had in common. I'm also a writer of poetry and fantasy and used to be a moderator on Forward Motion, probably the biggest community writing site on the Net.

New website design is up!

Feel free to take a look at my new design and let me know what you think. The header graphic is a cropped watercolor I painted on New Year's.

The site is nowhere near actually finished yet; all that's up is the front page and no other pages, so the links don't do anything. It is, however, a step toward the right direction. ;)

Moving my blog here

Well, my site got hacked and all the PHP files were infected and redirecting traffic to malware sites. I fixed it by uninstalling all my WordPress installs, etc. and am planning to just have a static brochure site for now. My irregularly-updated blog will be here (where it might just be more visible anyway), and if I can figure out how, I can have it echoed somehow on my static site.

Unfortunately, I lost everything I had up there; I backed up the database with my posts, but…

Hernias are fun

So two or three weeks ago, I start noticing something weird going on with my body and suspect a hernia. General practitioner couldn't confirm or deny and told me to watch it over a couple weeks and go to a hernia repair specialist if it continued or got worse.

The hernia repair specialist confirms it's a hernia and I have a surgery scheduled for the 16th of November.

Now I need to start putting all the medical hypnosis stuff I've learned from Seth-Deborah Roth into practice. I…

Announcing the arrival of the world's newest hypnotist

Yesterday morning, my wife had a c-section and delivered Theodore Solomon Johnston. We're doing well so far and in the road to recovery and being sent home. Theo's doing great and is loved by all who see him. ;-)
