What are you looking for on this site?
I'm looking to learn, share experiences, make friends, network, and contribute in any way that I can.
About Me:
I've lived in Rhode Island my whole life. It's fun to travel and see other places, but I always end up coming back here. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College. After taking a class in perception, I became very interested in the mind and how it works. But that's not how I started looking into hypnosis. Since the age of 12, I'd been struggling with IBS aka Irritable Bowel Syndrome. When I was first diagnosed and asked what IBS was, my doctor told me it was a generic label because they really couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Some doctors said it stemmed from psychological problems and "it was all in my head." I'd been on all kinds of meds for it. Most of them made me feel like a zombie. One doctor even tried to put me on Prozac. He rationalized that while it wouldn't cure my condition, it would increase my tolerance for pain. Not wanting to "just take a pill" and completely change my brain chemistry, I refused that treatment and became frustrated with the medical community. At that time, more research was being done on IBS and communities were forming on the Web. After reading a couple of books, I began modifying my diet. I had some success, but still had vicious flare-ups from time to time. That's when I discovered people were beginning to use hypnosis to treat IBS and some were having great success with it. In June of 2006, I attended the American School of Hypnosis and became certified. After a couple months of self-hypnosis, I no longer suffered from IBS. I manage my stress and don't have to worry about everything that I eat. Hypnosis has changed my life. Along with hypnotherapy, I also practice Reiki.

Now that that's out of the way... I love music and going to concerts. I'm also into stand up comedy and have a few shows under my belt. Making people laugh is both fun and rewarding. Hockey is my favorite sport, but I'll also watch baseball and football. I love to read. Nothing beats immersing yourself in a good book. After attending an intuitive arts festival in 2006, I became fascinated with dreaming. As a result, I keep a dream journal and have ready many books on the subject. The works of Robert Moss sparked a curiosity in Shamanism. Metaphysics is also an interest of mine. As I mentioned earlier, I like to travel. I'd like to see the world. I love learning. One can never learn enough.

If you've made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read all of this.

May life bring you love, laughter, happiness, and good times with good friends. Every moment is a gift.
