When I have had a client continue to open their eyes during the eye-lock test, I then switch to tensed eye lock.  "Close your eyes ... now tense them and while holding that tension try to open your eyes ..." if they open their eyes…

Ethically ... a person has the right (freedom) do be stupid, as long as it does not infringe upon others. Deciding how others should be or not be without their informed consent is unethical. J. Crit Harley, MD, C.Ht.

We try to be fast and effective with our tech support. We still have 1 outstanding issue that is impacting 4 people (which is totally my fault, and I apologies to them for my delinquency) but in general we are on the ball. Talk to you soon, Scott

Hi Crit- Let's solve this together. First, the HypnoSummit Store you are referring to and HypnoSummit 2.0 are entirely different sites, on different platforms, using different technology we have built (both times) as custom software. Both have…

HypnoSummit

There may be a problem with this hypnosummit 2.0 that is advertised here.I paid for and then tried to download a file from the first hypnosummit to see what it was like. The download hung up four times. Can't read the file. Now I can not even access the download site and I have not gotten a response to three email sent to their "help desk". Technology is great if it works. YMMV.J. Crit Harley, MD, C.Ht.See More

J. Crit Harley, MD, C.Ht. replied to Shirley R. Patterson's discussion 'Which night for seminar?'
My two cents worth. In my part of the country (NC) Wednesday nights are bad ... church night. Fridays are tough. If doing short program (evening) would stay away from weekend nights. Leaves Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. I tend toward Tuesday or…

Crit, please help. I could use any education from the medical community I could get. I saw a boy for IBS when he was 9. He's been good since. However, now at 16 he has developed some disturbing issues. He is 6'4" , weighs 256 and is somewhat active (marching band, PE at school, etc) but not as active as he should be. A few months ago he developed significant hypertension and extreme facial flushing. His pediatrician did not refer him to a cardiologist and simply put him on anti-hypertensive meds (not diruetics). Mom couldn't remember whether it was a beta blocker or a calcium channel blocker (could only remember that it was some sort of blocker). He had bronchitis for 3 weeks and when the bronchitis cleared he was left with an excruciating frontal headache. The pain is migrain level but does not respond to any meds, not even 1MG diluadid. He cannot sleep, cannot drive or function. Sinus CT was normal. They brought him back to see me assuming it was emotionally driven. I may not know everything about hypnotic pain control but I'm pretty good. I did 2 sessions for him and he got a 50% reduction in his pain level. On the way home however, they hit several bumps in the road in the car and his oain came back immediately and has not abated for 2 weeks so far, not even when he replays the CD's of our 2 sessions. I am worried about this kid. I keep calling the mom to get her to be forceful enough to get this boy into a neurologist and nephrologist and/or urologist. I thought of pseudotumor cerebri but the optometrist say there does not appear to be any swelling of the optic discs. I'm the only person concerned that a formerly healthy 16 yr old who is not grossly overweight has significant hypertension. I'm having to push the mom to get him to specialists. Am I the one who is crazy? Since the ped hasn't gotten upset over his symptoms Mom does not seem to be too motivated to push the medical envelope. I'm continuing to work on his pain issues but I know that hypnosis cannot eliminate a meaningful pain. I'm worried for him. Please tell me I'm off base or to keep pushing mom. Thanks.

Susan
