To Knead or Not to Need

I am a Food Network addict. Not just Food Network. Other cooking shows as well on other channels. Today I happened to be watching a re-run of "Paula's Party" on Food Network. Chef Duff Goldman, of "Ace of Cakes" fame was one of her guests. The theme of the show was "The Blues," as in get-down-and dirty-with your bad self-Delta blues music. Duff rolled out a huge cake shaped like a guitar. Instead of it being red velvet cake, it was blue velvet cake. So cool! Just last weekend I was entertaining…See More

What are you looking for on this site?
I am interested in specializing in Medical Hypnotherapy and want to know more about it. I have an extensive background in the mental health field.
I am interested in networking with those who have more experience, training and knowledge than I do, which would be almost anyone at this point!
About Me:
I recieved my initial training at a Positive Changes Hypnosis Center. I became certified through ABH in Nov. 2005. I attended the ABH convention in 2006 and received advanced training with Tad James in NLP. I also received certification in Coaching. I left Positive Changes in March 2006 and have been unable to work in the field since then b/c I signed a no-compete clause. I will be free from that restriction in March of 2008. It's been really frustrating putting hypnosis on hold and I am looking foward to continuing it soon. I would like to be an independent contractor. I've been self-employed several times before and am happiest that way.
I am a licensed massage therapist and aesthetician. I am a (2nd Degree) Reiki practitioner.
I'm a single mother of 2 adorable cats.
.
Hobbies:
I love doing volunteer work. I help out The Memphis Jazz Foundation and get to attend the shows, which is wonderful! I've been teaching at The Memphis Literacy Council for about 2 1/2 years. I've also been a volunteer at Clovernook Center for the Visually Impaired and The Memphis Food Bank.
Other interests are art ( I enjoy drawing and painting), music of all kinds, writing poetry, movies, antique and thrift stores, walking and hiking, reading, cooking and travel.

School Daze

Hi everybody,
Just a note to say that I am not purposely avoiding or ignoring anyone. I just returned to school after a 9 yr. hiatus and it is kicking my butt. It is all-consuming. Right now I am in the process of taking pre-requisite classes to get into nursing school eventually. This is important to me in furthering my hypnosis practice one day.
Hope all of you are well and having a great start to the new year!
God Bless,
Tina

Saint Augustine's Birthday

Posted on November 13, 2008 at 9:30pm 1 Comment

St. Augustine, theologian, philosopher and writer was born on this date in 354 A.D. He brought Christianity to England on the order of Pope Gregory.

I always think of this man as a beautiful, peaceful soul who came to know God best through his love of animals. I keep this poem of his in my wallet at all times. For some reason I thought of him today and wish to share with you what I consider to be the best prayer of all time:

Lord, make me an instrument of your… Continue

Let's Find New Ways to Love Ourselves, Each Other and The Planet

Posted on February 8, 2008 at 4:30pm 0 Comments

Valentine's Day: the day of love. How cheesy is that? I really despise crass commercialism, but I must admit I do get caught up in it just the same. Whenever this day comes up, it reminds me of all the special, beautiful people in my life, even people who are dead and gone or people I have released and let go of. It is a reminder of those who have influenced me in one way or another, for good or for bad, so I say to all those who have done me wrong: I forgive you!!! You have not destroyed…

NOTE TO SELF: DON'T EVER FORGET TO THANK THOSE WHO HELPED YOU ON THE WAY UP, ESPECIALLY YOUR PARENTS! I AM EVER SO GRATEFUL FOR MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS, BOSSES (EVEN THE CRAPPY ONES), CO-WORKERS (EVEN THE CRAPPY ONES), PEOPLE ON THE STREET WHO LET ME SMILE AT THEM, TALK TO THEM, GAVE ME A PARKING SPACE, ETC. I AM ALSO SO GRATEFUL FOR MANY OTHERS ALONG THE WAY WHO GAVE ME WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT, SUPPORT AND A PLACE TO LEARN, PRACTICE, GROW, AND EVEN THRIVE.

MANY THANKS TO ALL MY…

Hello Tina. It's probably just a coincidence but in the 80s I went to school with a girl in Hoquiam, WA that has your name. You wouldn't happen to be her, would you?

Hi Tina,
I am not sure how I missed you comments on my page. I am not on here very often, or I haven't been in the past. I am changing that.
Are you out of the no-compete contract yet? I haven't heard anything good about that place.
I do get to Memphis about every six weeks. My daughter lives in Lakeland. Feel free to give me a call, my number is on my website, www.nashvillehypnosis.com

Dear Tina...I probably would not actually call myself a psychic. I am pretty intuitive but believe most of us are. I just wanted to say hi and wish you well. I know what it is like to not be able to practice something that you love. I hope that March comes soon for you.all my best,

Sorry for the belated reply. I've been a bit distracted lately. What I was thinking about with your Halloween post was to use it as a basis for my own blog post on my website (which isn't all the way up and running still--see the previous remark about being distracted ;)) or as the basis for an ad on Craigslist. In other words, it's a great idea and could *easily* be turned into a way to get traffic/attendees for a seminar.

Hey, Thanks for adding me. Yes, changing careers is pretty scary. Having a business alone has been scary for 14 yrs. LOL I guess i am used to it now. I totally agree on life is always learning. I have been non-stop schooling for about 10yrs now, in a bunch of different things. This is the first time i found my calling. LOL It's about time... ha ha
