The Debt Free Hypnotist

I've been thinking a lot about what makes a hypnosis practice work and one thing I think is extremely important is being a decent manager of money. The truth is if you can't handle money, you’ll fail in any business.

Being able to budget, putting money aside to save up for things, saying no to something you know you don’t need right now, even when you have a strong desire for it, shopping around for the best prices, and knowing what you are willing to lose are some of the things… Continue

Very Percice Language

Good Morning..... I am sitting In BEAUTIFUL Mammoth Lakes... looking out a condo window at the morning sunrise.. What a LONG all night drive that was. Gave me some time contemplate some "stuff"

We are all users of language.. and as PROFESSIONAL language users... we should all make sure that we say it the way that we WANT it.. Say it the way that we want to convey the message that we are putting forth....

Good Omen

So today I got my DBA and set up my business bank account. As I was getting the money out to pay the county clerk for my DBA, my hand slid to the part of my wallet where I keep my business cards, and I pulled one out. I just had a feeling I need to give one to the county clerk. So, she took my notarized application and said, "Harmony Hypnosis. So can you help with weight loss? I need to lose a few pounds, but my sister really needs help."

I smiled. "Do I help with weight loss?" I… Continue

Stage Hypnosis and the UK Hypnosis Act of 1952

So... while in a heated discussion on one of the lists here on Hypnothoughts, the UK Hypnosis Act of 1952 was mentioned several times by one of the participants. Being Unfamiliar with the the actual verbiage of the UK LAW on how you MUST do a hypnosis show in the UK.. I thought it would be good to take a look at it.

The way that it was used in the posting, I was expecting this HUGE list of DO NOT DO THIS.. DO NOT DO THAT.... and what I imagined was a difficult list of requirements… Continue

Hypnotic Photos from Peru

A few years ago I went with a couple of friends to Peru. My friend, Lynn, took a bunch of photos with a digital camera while there. He took the photos and then left to go back home a week ahead of us. When we got back to the US we met up for lunch and he showed me all the pics he had printed out. He had them in an album. These were his last ones.

He said, " I took these pics of you when you were meditating above the Incan wall that day. I took them one right after another with no… Continue

Derren Brown versus Richard Bandler

Derren Brown has had to back down from some of his very critical statements about Neruolinguistic Programming (NLP) and - more specifically - about Richard Bandler, one of the founders of NLP. In his book, Trick of the Mind, Brown called NLP a bit of a pyramid scheme rather than a legitimate approach to the mind and therapeutic change. He also took a swipe at Bandler, equating him to a con man.

Bandler and friends took umbrage and hit Brown with a suit. Brown has backed down…
