the Free Hypnosis Social Network
At the young age of 61 I have decided that I need a new adventure in my life and through this blog I plan to share it with you!
But first a little background... I found hypnosis in the early 70's. I weighed 266 and yo-yo dieting sure wasn't helping me feel any better about myself. Hypnosis came to West Palm Beach Florida in the form of one of those "clinics" with a lot of recliners in little rooms and recorded hypnosis sessions... I tried it and not only was it too expensive it was only moderately effective.
I did find someone in private practice and even though he only used direct suggestion the weight began to come off. I would still have to deal with the inner demons but that would not come until years later. It took me about a year and a half to shed 115 pounds. I was hooked on hypnosis...
I moved to Miami, Fl in a corporate transfer and continued to use self-hypnosis for weight issues
Fast forward to 1997. My father had a health challenge which had led him to stop eating... sparing you the gory details, we took him to a hypnotist... he ate again!
Later that same year I left Corporate America for a business that should have been a major success and simply was not. (Now that I am using the Law of Attraction I can see all the reasons!)
At the demise of the business I attended a seminar called, Awareness & Beyond. The facilitator was going to help us decide what we wanted to be when we grew up... and with my previous experience with hypnosis I recognized that he was using hypnosis (although he never said so) and certainly not deep trance to allow us to go inward.... I was fascinated! I came home and began to investigate what it would take to be a hypnotist. The comment from my darling significant other, John... "Well, you have been running a free counseling service out of your office for years, you might a well get paid for it."
I took the NGH course from Audrey Cotter in Hallandale, FL. At that time she had been doing hypnosis for 36 years... she added much of her own extensive material to the course and mentored me afterward with internship type stuff... in short I got a wonderful start. I have followed up with many more instructional courses and all the books I can find on the subject. In early 2001 I saw my first client.
Ok, that is how I got to today! Now somewhere along the journey I began to feel that the vibration in Miami had changed... or my vibration had changed or maybe a little of both.
John and I decided that a move is in order, but where? We have traveled the country looking for the place that has the correct feel. (And has the best priced real estate!) We have begun to sound like that Johnny Cash song... I've been everywhere, man!
We have three on the short list... Mobile, Al; Nashville, TN; and Chattanooga, TN. If anyone has any input into those locations, I'd love to hear it.
Just one snag... the down real estate market... We had a lot of real estate to sell... I just put it out to the universe that there were wonderful buyers that wanted all of it and since last March we have sold 8 and have just the condo we live in left... and I know it will sell soon.
I'll keep you posted in the next installment...
