With the current economy and the holidays upon us, I hear hypnotists talking about, "the slow season" or the dead time before new years resolutions and wonder, "what are they talking about?" Some are even talking about lowering their rates just to stay busy. That just doesn't make sense to me at all.
Last December was my busiest month of the entire year. This one isn't quite as packed as last year, but I'm seeing 16 clients this week (3 had to reschedule to next week due to flu or family conflict or it would have been 19). I'm not writing to boast, but instead to encourage you all to get out there and get more clients today.
If you want to use this time of year to relax, vacation, or spend time with family that is great, but if you are looking to expand your business there are great ways to do it now. How? In a word: Utilization.
Offer to give a free 45 minute lecture on "Managing the holiday Stress" or "de-stressing the holidays" or something like that. Emphasize that you can help people let go of the stress and enjoy this time of year. Pace their reality and lead them to a happier state of mind. Tell the people there that you will do a private one hour session with them for this or anything they want, or even offer a group rate to work with multiple people on this issue.
You could even put out a press release talking about these things, getting a head start on new years resolutions, curbing holiday binge eating and weight gain, or giving a loved one the gift of a hypnosis session.
I hope these ideas get you thinking and get you motivated to get out there and have some fun with your practice. Go make the phone ring and turn strangers into clients.
Have fun,
Scott Sandland
