HI! This is my first post in the blog :)

I have been doing shows for quite some years now, and I must say that nothing beats the adrenaline rush I feel right before I hit the stage!!!

I was just hired for doing in a show in August wich I must say is quite a challenge for me and would like your opinions and ideas ;)

The place is on the open, and they are expecting around 5,000 people....the thing being the challenge here is that none of that 5,000 spectators will be seated, they will be standing as they normally do on a rock concert.

Any advice on how I should do the induction? The producers of the show want me to do a Mass hypnosis induction, wich for Latin American People is the standard...Stage Hypnosis shows here don´t have the same structure as in the states, where you ask for volunteers to come on stage and hipnotize them there. They are just to shy to do that, so the normal drill is to do a pre-talk and then go on and do the induction with them on their seats or tables, depending on the venue, do the deepeners AND THEN, bring them on to the stage.....see where the challenge is?

I was thinking on maybe doing the pre-talk, then a hand-clasp....AND THEN ask the people who have their hands stuck together to come on stage AND THEN deepen de state there...does it sound like a good idea? any comments?

Thank you very much for taking the time for reading this, I really appreciate it!!!

Joshua,

I am reading Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman, and haven't gotten to that part of the cigarette.

But to help a non-smoker aspirant, I am considering posthypnotic suggestion, where if/when a backslider lights one, in three puffs, he will be somnambulistic, daydreaming about all or the reasons that he wants to be a non-smoker, and because he wants to have the ecstasy of the results, he will put out the cigarette, and start to do something healthier and enjoyable.

I just thought of it, and don't have it down yet, but perhaps be this:

Guy takes the puffs, puts out the cigarette, and has a "crazy idea" that he wants to play tennis.

So he REALLY DOES go to play tennis. or plan that he will do it after work.

So maybe the backsliding can be used to reinforce the wish.

Or something like that ;)

Building on what John Cleesattel suggested, you could do the clapping at the end but make it a "three handclap induction." That's where I thought he was going when he said, " ... will also notice how good it feels. Ready? Clap," actually.

This is a variation of the induction that started with Elman, I think: three puffs of cigarette smoke, describing what will happen at each puff, with the third puff taking them all the way under. Of course, using cigarette smoke nowadays isn't a good idea, so you use other things. Three handshakes, three deep breaths, three finger snaps, three foot stomps, three claps ...

Group phenomena? My favorite! This one is for the audience.

The start of the show, right after the introduction:

Hi, I am Bruno Lamont.. etc. I know that most of you have come here to have a good time...RIGHT?
I have found, that in order to have a good time, it helps to be in a good mood!....RIGHT?

Ok, is there anyone out there who would like to be in a super mood?

Great! Those of you who don't want to be in a better mood, just don't follow my instructions.

First, I want you to go back in your memory for what I like to call a "yippee" moment. (insert joke about not yuppie..if you like) This is when you got that raise, you got your new car, your girlfriend/boyfriend said yes, your team won, or what ever it was that made you make a fist, pull your arm in, and say "YES!"

This is what we will use to compare against. Please raise your hand when you have this. Good.

Next, I will ask you to visualize, that is, see with your mind's eye, a dial upon a wall. It will be like a clock face but with numbers that go from one to ten, with an indicator arrow pointing to number one.

This is your mood indicator. Raise your hand again when you have this. Good.

Now in a moment, I will ask you clap your hands, and when you do, I want you to move that arrow from one to the two. You will immediately notice your mood improve a little. You will find that each number we move up, the better your mood gets, and the better you feel.

Okay? Now remember to move the arrow to the next higher number when we clap.

Are you ready?

Move the arrow to the two.. now. (clap)

You felt that a little, didn't you. Great, Lets keep going.

Move the arrow to the three..now (clap)

to a four now (clap)

to a five now (clap)

to a six now (clap)

to a seven now (clap)

I'm gonna stop right there because I don't want you to start looking for your cheerleader uniforms.

Okay! Who is in a better mood? (Expect thunderous applause)
------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, and just because you just made their applause an anchor for feeling good and this will probably be the most exciting show of their life, you have also just opened the door for getting the easiest volunteers you have ever had.
-------------------------------------------------------------
"I know that some of you are feeling REALLY good now....aren't you.

You are the ones who can enjoy a show like this the most. If you think you feel good now, when the music plays (or whatever) I will ask you to come on down and fill these chairs, and I promise you, you will have the most fun you have ever had your life. So come on down (or however you do it)

These people arrive on stage already in trance, you can just start suggesting. For the group effect:

Tell the audience: The words I say now are only for those onstage, and will have no effect on you still in the audience.

To the stage group:
"Glad you could come down here and join me. In a moment, I will ask you to all clap your hands once. This will prepare you for trance. You will feel yourself on the edge of trance, but will also notice how good it feels. Ready? Clap.

Great, now in a moment, I will say a magic word. When I do, it will be your signal to close your eyes and immediately go into deep trance, and experience more if those wonderful feelings I was telling you about. ARE YOU READY? ABRACADABRA! (snap)

Since they are already in trance when they get there, the expectancy deepeners will drop them all at once. Great visual effect, and you can extrapolate from there as you like.
