I live and run my practice in Newport Beach. The old ABH conference was less than 10 miles from my office. It really was unfortunate that all that happened between Tad and Matt. I had met both of them, and even been a presenter at their conference, but didn't know either of them well. I thought they had a good thing going, and given the number of hypnotists in my area, I thought their location was perfect for the conference. It's too bad all that changed.

I still get things in the mail from both Tad and Matt every now and again, but it's not met with the same excitement it once was.

Melissa, it came with my renewal and I thought it would be of interest as a reference.

Ouch. Melissa, I didn't know this, it does explain an awful lot though.

A few years ago Tad (father) and Matt (son) James had a disagreement that resulted in a court battle that split the old ABH umbrella into separate companies. Tad continues to own the titles to his books, ABH, ABNLP and TLTA. Actually, he folded TLTA into ABNLP. They are headquartered in Nevada. Matt got the training end (AIH and the school). They still do not talk and neither has been able to rebuild an organization equivalent to the old ABH. Tad moved the ABH convention from Newport Beach to Nevada to be closer to his residence. As a result, attendance plummeted from 150-200 to 40-45. The question I have is why you got the ethics statement in the mail and what that is all about?

Umm, maybe they split ABH, ABNLP and TLTA then, but parts of that umbrella now work out of Hawaii and have done for a number of years.

It arrived in my mail box today, and they are still in Nevada. Maybe you're thinking of a different agency.

Not that it probably would have changed much, but that's an old, old copy. They haven't been in Nevada for many years.
