So, having skulked about and stalked a few of you I have finally formulated my master plan. I've been reading some of Milton E's seminars and have ordered Anthony Jacquin's book, Reality is Plastic. Also I have been looking at some of Richard Bandler's writings on NLP and doing a lot of thinking about the agency of speech in human experience.

Anyway, I have set myself the goal of actually hypnotising some people when I digest Anthony's text.

Then its practice, practice, practice until I feel confident of my ability to hypnotise. And then I'll be looking to do a more formal training of some sort.

So -- there you are :)

I received Anthony Jacquin's book "Reality is plastic" today, along with the accompanying DVD. I am just now working my way through the material, but it is clear to me that this is an exceptional instructional text. The wealth of information and practical guidance is impressive for such a compact tome. And the DVD is fantastic - Anthony explains everything step-by-step and then demonstrates the technique on a subject.

The most impressive thing about this book/DVD is the price: 26 British pounds, that's only about 36 dollars!

Another point worth mentioning - I ordered the book several weeks ago, but the original copy dispatched to me seems to have gotten lost (or stolen) in the post. I emailed Anthony on Monday last to let him know I hadn't received anything. He mailed me back to say that a replacement would be sent immediately. Guess how long it took him to reply to my email and promise a replacement. A day? Nope. And few hours? Nope.

Nine minutes.

This is the best customer service I have experienced in a long time.

Sorry for going on for so long, but I am very very pleased with the price, the product and the service - Anthony is a class act!

Thank you Pattie -- I shall, indeed, proceed to "live" training, but shall likely need to go overseas for it, so I'm just taking care of the basics by distance-ed.

And, Trish - I do plan to have fun with my early efforts..."live" training will probably be in the UK, so I might even invite you for lunch if I'm anywhere close. Be warned.

Thank you for the encouragement, Elizabeth, I will do a face-to-face induction as soon as I digest Anthony's book. If I don't go for it straight away I might put if off for ever :)

Cheers all for the kind words!

Philco... I first learned online .... but I knew I had to have face to face interaction. It's far more fun... go for it!~

I agree with Brian there is so much to learn in person to see if your applying what you learned the right way.
I know DVD's/Cds and alot of other online media is available but, nothing is better then the one on one that gives you the practice needed to be able to try different methods that suit you...Good Luck!

Thank you for that Brian - I'll take a look. And I do agree about the differential between live and online training. Cheers - Philco

While I'm not a supporter of an internet-only delivery for hypnosis instruction (you really need to learn and practice on real people), the Hypnosis Motivation Institute has a really good online course that will really wet your hypnosis buds and give you an excellent primer. The best part is that it's free. I'm not endorsing it at all, but it was helpful to me while I waited for my NGH course to start.
