Build a Positive Outlook with Three By Three - 3 X 3

For anyone wanting to build their own or help others develop a positive outlook then here is an approach that can be used and tailored to great effect.

With your help as readers and forwarders this movement gains ground. All of us working toward having a positive psychology for ourselves and those we interact with can benefit from it and share it with others. The description of the process below is for the uninitiated in hypnosis and nlp but is close to the way I use it with my family, friends and clients.

A positive feedback system that is easy to teach.

This takes less than 3 minutes a day without anchoring and about 12-15 minutes with anchoring. (I do it 5-6 times a day in under 15 minutes including anchoring).

In these interesting times when we are being bombarded by less than positive messages it is a fantastic revitaliser to take time to think of 3 things that have made you feel good or thankful or just feel nice.

Do this 3 times a day or more if you like. (that's at least nine positive thoughts a day)

I'm sure if we all focus on the good aspects of our life, our community and our world we'll all be far better off. I have asked my family, students, friends and clients to do this and it has been interesting that I have only received positive feedback.

Give it your best shot - I dare you to do it for a week - it may build a good habit.



Power 3X3 - teach your family, clients and friends to anchor the positive feelings from these memories.

When you become good at the 3 by 3 program, you should allow yourself to really enjoy the power feelings associated with your positive recall items.
(At this point you may choose to teach the : see, hear, smell, taste and feel progression)
As you become totally immersed in the wonderful positive sensations anchor them.
This can be done by setting a trigger point like the first knuckle of your right or left hand. You do this by applying pressure to the spot you choose. Hold this spot as the sensations and emotions grow, right up to the point when they are just peaking. Let go at just before the crest of the wave is reached.

A well charged anchor point can be released when you need a boost just by touching the spot.

This is a form of conditioning as first described by Pavlov and is used by psychologists and hypnotherapists daily with their clients.
