Every once in a while something new comes along.
I recently attended a workshop by Charlie Badenhop and have to say it was something completely different and useful. Charlie has been involved in the NLP and hypnosis community for a number of decades. What makes his work so unique though is his background in Aikido. Charlie has lived in Japan in 1985 and is one of the few Westerners who is a recognized sensei or teacher of Aikido in Japan. The way he incorporates the mind/body principles of Aikido into his coaching and teaching modality is highly original and flawless.
One of the exercises that stands out was his use of the walking timeline but adding an element of resistance to it in order to allow a person to notice their posture and balance. This becomes a huge metaphor for the way they actually approach their goals. Truly great stuff.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with Charlie's training or organization but want to recommend him and his workshops to anybody that is looking to adding some real mind/body elements to their practice.

Comment by Jonathan Altfeld on November 21, 2011 at 9:41pm Charlie is extraordinary. Doug O'Brien & I flew him up to Vermont this past Summer so that we could watch him train our group for a bit, as well as do some modeling of how he achieves a unique state of "no-mind" before working with people. I know he's training December 3 & 4 in NYC, and if anyone wants to see an absolute master of what I would describe for this forum as "somatic" hypnosis... they should go train with Charlie less than 2 weeks from now. Seriously, if you're looking for prime exemplars of extraordinary skill and presence, Charlie is one of these people.
Best regards,

Comment by Joel.E on November 21, 2011 at 3:19pm Charlie is amazing. I met him 1st over 10 years ago at Steven Gilligan training and have been impressed ever since. His warmth, the way he holds space, the elegant way he creates change are fantastic to watch. He works at interface between mind and body and subtly guiding change. Many of his techniques are simple but powerful. His classes are fun and interesting and you learn a lot.
Check him out. www.seishindo.org
