Pouring through massive amounts of hypnosis material from multiple sources I still wonder which is the most effective to have lasting impact.

Progressive relaxation verses instant, fifteen minute or less induction?

Sophisticated final suggestions or quick direct authoritarian input for change?

Taking the fast lane or slow lane is how I pose my questions.

I can see this being impacted by the client but what are some of the key factors to determine which path to take?

An example I want to use is for headache relief. Factors: Simple headache, no medical issues, just helping to expedite the aspirin.

Thank you,

Hi Kevin,
I will answer your questions for my personal tastes and experience: I don't prefer to drag things out if its not necessary.

1. progressive relaxation vs instant.. my choice is Rapid: less than 2 min to somnambulism and I don't have to touch them or yell at them.

2. Sophisticated final suggestion or quick authoritarian input for change? Usually neither. I let what I learn from the client determine the best course of action. You cannot give specific answers to generic questions.

3. Lasting impact is realized when you solve the problem that inhibits the desired change, and then enable the change itself.

4. Headache example: Specific example, Simple pain control, Fast lane, less than a minute.

Cheers
John
