Well, I started just barely being able to put anyone into Trance, now just a few short weeks later, I have performed in front of a small audience (they were friends, but the pressure was still on) and managed to have a great time with some creative suggestions on the fly, and I have to admit, it was a blast.
It took some time with groups, I had a lot of people pop out of trance, have trouble going in, and all that. I found myself basically doing just demonstrations of putting people in and out of trance, but the trouble kept arising when trying to give suggestions, even simple suggestions such as an arm catalepsy or hands stuck together.
It took a few tries, with different groups of people, but I finally found what I was missing, CONFIDENCE, I cannot stress to this day how important just a little hint of confidence will help, and a whole lot, makes those who are in trance go that much deeper. I found myself speaker clearly, faster, louder, and now; nearly everyone is listening to suggestions, and having a great time doing it.
Here is some clips from my most recent "show", basic suggestions sure, but entertaining nonetheless;
Comments, critiques, critcism is always welcome.
Despite this success, I know where I am falling short, and I believe I am having some trouble constructing a solid Pre-Talk, it is the most important part of performing hypnosis, and I feel as though I am doing something wrong, or leaving something out.
I always include;
At all times you are aware, and in control
You will never do something you do not want to/ reveal any secrets
Trance completely natural, occurs often during a typical day, I usually give examples like Highway Hypnosis or daydreaming, that place between awake and asleep, like before falling asleep.
Trance is a state of relaxation, so it is a nice place to be.
If they are new, I ask them to close their eyes, take a few deep breaths, and then have them open their eyes, and instruct that is essentially what Hypnosis feels like, they are always aware, and in control.
I still feel after all this, some still have trouble with going deep into trance, if at all. Some select few, will drop into trance with a rapid induction, but once I pull them out, they will not return to trance, unless I use a different rapid induction, any suggestions as to how to get those to return to trance, whom are anticipating it?
What am I missing? What does your Pretalk include? Some pointers, and examples would be greatly appreciated.
