Hi Everyone,

My name is Glenn Needham. I have been interested in hypnosis for as long as I can remember. For some reason unknown to me (most likely embarrassed), I have kept this a secret from everyone up until now. I had no idea that a site like this existed with people sharing their love of hypnosis.

I have been reading up on hypnosis for several months now and still have not tried any form of induction. Just spending the last few days looking over this website has given me the confidence to have a go.

I just wanted to post this message to everyone on this website to thank you all for being here. It has made such a difference to me knowing there are many other people out there who share the same passion for hypnosis.

I will let you all know how I go when I have my first attempt this weekend.

Any advice for the first time?

Once again, thank you.

Welcome to your new world, Glenn!

Following James' lead, I often tell my clients: "there is no right way or wrong way to experience trance, I'm sure you will find the way that is just right for you..."

Welcome to HT.com Glenn,

Remember the state of the art is inside of you and not the techniques that you are using --

Be with the person or people that you are entrancing - Imagine becoming peaceful and easy and ready for some fun and project that feeling to the person or people that you are hypnotizing -- Works like a charm...

Great advice from James - Remember hypnosis is like a movie - You are the director and you are simply getting the best out of your star(s)

Consider me a resource.

Set expectations with your trancer. :-) Many people think they have failed if they don't achieve a "deep" state in which the trancer experiences amnesia. That's not the case, so be sure to explain that beforehand. Both of you need to know that your trancer will be aware for all or part of the experience, or may drift in and out of awareness, or may blank out entirely. All of those are acceptable.

Second--don't attempt! Don't try! Do.
