Research Proven Treatment Methods: Medical Meditation

Clinical hypnotists are presented with a wide variety of clients with a multitude of issues to impact. With so many variables to consider, including managed care outcome-based treatment constraints (for those who take insurance), it can be a challenge at times to know which method will be the best for each individual client.

One of the most effective and flexible approaches for assisting dozens of issues is Medical Meditation. Hundreds of clinical research studies prove that meditational practices can positively impact chronic pain patients; management of emotional states, including anger, anxiety and depression; personality disordered clients; cutters and self-mutilators; and eating disorder clients. Meditation not only reduces stress symptoms present at the time of practice, but also teaches stress management skills for future use, facilitating long-term results.

And not only is it effective, but like hypnosis it's also all natural, a key reason many clients seek out hypnosis as a treatment option in the first place. Medical meditation is a physical and mental process, not a pill – no chemicals required for results – and therefore, like hypnotherapy, it carries no potential for worrisome drug complications or side-effects.

Today's medical meditation draws upon the wisdom from thousands of years of ancient Eastern traditional practice methods. However, while many may actually experience an adjunct spiritual rejuvenation, no religion is required for participating; non-secular meditation is just as effective.

Success with meditation is simple: it's all about the open attitude, postures and exercises. Meditation and Hypnosis are not the same thing, but they can be used co-jointly to assist clients in making positive, healthy changes.
