God will save me
Let me tell you a story
Not all good things come in shining packages, yet there is always a hand reaching down that wants to help us, if we just grab hold of it.
there was this minister, that was truly devoted to god, he gave his whole life to the lord
at some time there was a flood in his town, and the whole town was overtaken by a huge amount of water
the minister took refuge on top of the church
suddenly there came a boat along, with people that started evacuating the people of the town, who said:
"Get in father, we'll help you to dry land!"
The minister said:"No, God will help me, I have faith"
at the time the water rose, and was to his ankles, there came a rescue helicopter
the people lowered a man, who said:"Hang on to me father, we'll get you to dry land!"
and the minister said:"No, God will help me, I have faith"
at the last moment, there were two kids, on a table, drifting by
and they too said:"Get on the table father, we'll make it!"
and the minister again said:"No, God will help me, I have faith"
the minister drowned
when he came before God, he asked him
"My God, I have given my life to you, I have held to all the commandments, I gave up the life with a woman, and a child
why have you left me to die, why didn't you save me?"
God said:"I've sent you a boat, a hellicopter, and a table, what would have done it for you? A cruise ship?"
The moral of the story is...
Not all good things come in shining packages, yet there is always a hand reaching down that wants to help us, if we just grab hold of it.

That's awesome. To think I heard it as a joke, here in the Netherlands, when I was a kid...
Some truths have their own way of making it throughout the world.

You told the story well. I have heard it and used it myself several times in trying to reach someone who was decidedly committed to wait for the rescue to be "their way"
The God and Saved words did not influence me either way... my curiosity won out.... well done

Okay, NOW I have to comment!!! lol That reminds me of the local news story: there was a miracle baby born at the hospital...it has a penis and a brain! ...Get it?
I have heard your story before, Antoine, and I like it. I just this morning spoke with someone I know about utilizing hypnosis to find solutions to her problems. I commented that here is a life preserver, you can grab it, or you can continue sinking (her description) or you can drift with the tide and hope you end up on land. It's your choice.
