Happy World Hypnotism Day !
Every Day is World Hypnotism Day –
Hypnotist John Cerbone, The Trance-Master
In the profession of hypnotism, each hypnotic professional seems tasked with explaining who we are, what it is we do, and how it can be of benefit to the people we encounter, from clinical sessions for men, women and children, to group corporate programs, even, television demonstrations, to comedy hypnosis stage shows and fundraising events.
And for some of us, sometimes it goes one step further. Like a great many of us, once someone discovers I’m a hypnotist, many folks have asked me to do something amazing and cool. Depending upon their age, this may range from a concentration [suggestibility] test to the Speed-Trance hypnotic induction, to a humorous demonstration of street-hypnosis.
Most everywhere I go, someone will either have a question or an experience, which most often, being an ambassador or to our profession, I am most usually only too happy to provide.
I have personally performed at least hundreds of hypnosis demonstrations all around the U.S., as well as the UK and Canada. From having them visualizing and profoundly seeing an image, to Speed-Trancing many waitresses, from having them taste an imaginary lemon, to gluing someone’s eyelids shut via suggestion, the list of mind-blowing and cool demos continues to grow, and only seems limited by the time at hand in which we have to work, the individual we’re working with, and the place where we are working.
From Costco to Radio Shack, to the waiting room at the place the changes my car's motor oil, to airports, even on planes in flight, and numerous nation-wide hotel lobbies, and even way too many restaurants for me to remember, once others know what I do, I seem to be constantly demonstrating hypnosis, while making new friends, shining a light and educating, while helping the public shed misconceptions, and giving gifts of positive suggestions to our kindly volunteers, while astounding crowds and audiences with what I do.
Even after the hypnosis shows I host, now with the ice has been broken, and they’re no longer afraid of what I do, I’m quite often called upon to hypnotize more people now want a taste of hypnosis for their very own.
So while on January 4 each year as a profession we celebrate World Hypnotism Day, for those of us who embrace the love of our work, for myself at least, each and every day is World Hypnotism Day.
To each and all reading this, Happy World Hypnotism Day!
And as a Hypnosis Professional, Happy Every Day!
