Help me break into the Top 30!

This week I was excited to discover that our company was ranked 37th in the world in the Sales and Marketing category on Elance.com, a site where people go to find freelance marketing, PR and copywriting help (among other things.)

Today, I read this great quote from Robert Heinlein—"In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it."—and it has really inspired me.

It's sometimes tough to both work on a business and work in a business...and lately I know I've been working in the business a bit too much.

With Heinlein's quote in mind, I've set a goal! I've challenged myself to try to break the Top 30 on Elance.com by working just as hard to promote our business as I do to promote and market our clients.

Task 1: Naturally, because I'm in PR, I wrote a press release about our Top 40 ranking on Elance.
Task 2: Responding to RFPs in a timely manner.
Task 3: Writing long-overdue content for our own website (yes, the cobbler's children have no shoes!)

I'm posting this on HypnoThoughts in hopes that my hypno-friends will help me be accountable for my goals.
