As a new hypnotist from a small community, I struggle with finding people to sharpen my skills.

My selection is limited to teenagers that have, let's say, way too much fun on the weekends.

I remember reading or seeing on the web, where someone had hypnotized a subject to be able to become completely intoxicated on water or invisible liquid. I believe this was performed in a bar setting and a trigger was established to remove the effect when the person touched the steering wheel. Sober driver :)

Obviously this would be an experience that most would be very willing to enjoy and thus provide me with good practice. I look at it as a win/win situation. I think that after each successful experience, they would be more willing to pursue other experiences. I.e. Study enhancement, fear/phobia removal and so forth.

I am successful at getting them into hypnosis but setting up the effect and making it last is a struggling point for me.

Hints, tips and suggestions greatly appreciated,

Kevin Atwell

Hi Kevin,

Some of the best LSD trips in the 1970s and 1980s were taken by people who never actually took LSD -- All that is necessary for creating a state of intoxification is the skillful use of suggestion and an active imagination... I'm sure that you can do this --

However, I recommend doing talks and demonstrations that educate people about how hypnosis can help them and addresses any concerns that they might have,,, A powerful demo is just having them imagine a lemon -- See the lemon, hold the lemon in your hand and smell the lemon,,, Slice the lemon and hear yourself tasting the lemon -- Now ask people to raise their hands if they tasted the lemon-- Lots of hands will go up and you have just demonstrated how suggestion and imagination can change a person's physiology...

Any one of feel out of control?

Kevin,
With somnambulism, what you suggest becomes real for the subject. You suggest they are drunk, bingo. Attach a trigger to it (snap fingers, tap table, you name it) and they experience it even more each time you do it. It is not only booze, but drug effects also. It is a simple as saying: "When ever I (insert trigger here) you will notice that you feel like you just had a shot of 100 proof alcohol, each time I do it, it will be like you had another shot." etc.

It will last well while they are in trance, and when out of trance, will last til their judgmental mind gets tired of it.

John
