Pain control and accelerating physical healing are of particular interest to
me as I recently broke my wrist. Everyone asks me how I did it. My
brother suggested that I say that I was saving a baby from under a bus. Which is certainly more exciting and heroic than falling over backward in my living room. Let's go with his version. It's been an interesting saga. The night I fell my neighbor drove me to the
emergency room. As we waited, and talked, and waited... and waited, I
had a recurring thought in the back of my mind. "As soon as my wrist is immobilized it will feel fine." That thought ran through my mind for 4 1/2 hours as I waited to be seen. At the time I wasn't thinking about programming myself. I realize now, however, that I did program myself and quite effectively. As soon as my arm was in the splint my wrist felt fine. I had a flash of insight about the reason I fell. I had been affirming lately that my life was out of balance. I now affirm that my life is well balanced! When I broke my leg my favorite expression was "give me a break." I nousing a simple visualization during my daily time in self hypnosis. For about 30 days I imagined applying a bit of bone glue to the breaks. But one day there was no room for glue and I heard the word, "sealed." My infinitely wise mind knows I have used a sufficient amount of bone glue to facilitate healing. I am still using mental "bone strengthener" and "muscle rejuvenator" as well as a daily dose of Reiki. longer ask life to give me a break or state that anything about my life is out of balance. Our words have great power... use them wisely. |
