I had an intersting reaction from a client that I thought I would share. During my induction I told the client that when she goes into trance, she may notice her arms feeling heavier or lighter either one is fine. A pretty standard line that I am sure many people use. After emerging her during the post hypnotic interview she revealed that during the entire session she felt as if one arm was made of stone and the other felt as if it was going to float up off her lap at any time. I also made a recording for her to use that had this same line repeated in it and she has reported that each time she uses the recording she has the same reaction. One arm is stone and the other feels almost weightless.

I guess it just goes to show that you really need to watch what you say while a person is in trance.

Since she is taking herself into trance based on your suggestions, I think she merely found an effective way of safely relaxing. Good Job !!

Jack, you do have to be careful what you say to a person but it sounds to me like you really provided her with a wonderful trance ratification experience-which should improve the likeliehood that she will accept the therapeutic suggestions readily.
