On another site it was suggested by a correspondent who is a self confessed therapist, that the world was sick. I am presuming he didn't mean that the planet was suffering from an illness but that what the human race was doing behaviourally could be construed to be an illness.

I am of the belief and opinion that whilst a lot of what humans do is unsocial, detrimental, odd and even deadly; that isn't illness but simple human nature and instinct.

We are designed to be social and habitual as animals. Which of course under our thin veneer of intelligence, is exactly what we are. And as such we are a long way from evolving away from our tribal and territorial instincts. That isn't being sick, that's being young. As a species we have a way to go.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to improve our environment, which of course is exactly what our forefathers were doing with their engineering and carbon hungry attempts at building a 'better' world.

Now we are going through an age where anything unproductive is seen as an illness rather than as a redirectable habit of thought and behaviour. That is a dangerous trap for those seeking to repair the the teaching as they themselves begin to suffer the "Healing sickness"

You se to 'cure' most of the mental and emotional bad programming therapists see all we need to do is to change the pattern of thought. The true illness of the mind, or bad hard wiring of the brain, can not be cured or changed. No therapist can do that, ever. Not with hypnosis.

My conclusion, the world is not sick, but some of the people tryinng to cure it could be ;-)

There's big money in it for certain entities. More and more children in school (60%?!) are being 'diagnosed' with ADHD and fed medications -- tell me someone isn't getting rich off of that...

John, we may be on a similar wavelength. Productivity in my mind requires taking action. Reassessing ones self requires internal motivation. Yet, the challenge is: How does one avoid these external negative programs if they want to participate in the society?
