Thanks so much for your comments, all gratefully received. Yes Amber, I think you are right, my NLP and HT training has definately helped me thru some tricky times. I have been around this 'stuff' for years and it has helped me so much, hence the need/want to get qualified and help others using what I know and what I'm still learning. I was feeling..sorry.. I could have found myself feeling a bit alone in the wilderness but just knowing this site exists and the help I have already got over the past couple of days definately makes me realise that I made the right choice of career.
Thanks again

Steve,

Can i also say this - someone a long time ago told me that if we really want something, obstacles will seem to spring up from nowhere and get in the way, just to see if we do really want it and will do whatever we have to to make it work.

Now this might all be BS but you know, it happens to me when i feel i am on the right path, and then WHAM! hahahahahahaaaa - but i have found thru hypnotherapy and NLP that i have overcome so many of my emotional reactions to things that i just climb over, go around or bust through the obstacle all the while keeping true to my vision.

Maybe the "tough time" you have been having is some insight that will help others down the track - wonder if that has ever happened before (tongue in cheek!) You will always have support and understanding from us xo

Hi there Steve!!!

I share in the wonder of this site - I too am fairly new to stepping out and making it my profession :) When i qualified i rang my chiro who i adore, she has a thriving practise with her husband who does Homeopathy and there are quite a few professionals in their practise.

I asked her, on the off chance, did she have a spare room within the practise - they did!!!!! Not only that, they have advertised me, promoted me and set me up incredibly! They both believe in hypnotherapy and i have been doing sessions for them and the staff (unpaid but i now get my chiro work for free) and has been wonderful exp for me.

Don't be afraid to ask someone, that you may never think might need you, because they might just be looking to try something new and wonderful for their clients :)

The people at this site have been amazingly wonderful to me - they have certainly told me in no uncertain terms when i have not been behaving like i should, and have aided me to find my place of strength within myself and my career and i now know that no matter what comes my way i have a bunch of friends here that i can get fantastic, and successful, tips from.

I am open to learning and am very well aware, as you may be, that there is soooooooooo much for us to learn on this journey - but in this openness we can all grow.

One thing i have to say is this: when i have spoken to people "on the road" about being a hypnotherapist they have all spoken detrimentally regarding the ones they saw at their private homes.... now that might just be the ones i have spoken to but i'm sure lots of others here will give their 2 cents worth also so you can make the best decision for your success and your clients peace of mind.

Well done for choosing to help others and i wish you all the luck, not that you will need it :)

Thanks for the kind words. I am recently qualified and just starting out, I am having a few difficulties finding a suitable 'office' to work from and home is not an option, in the short term could anyone offer advice/ideas about home visits? I know it could be an absolute nightmare but on the other hand some clients might actually prefer it, thanks

Welcome aboard, and Katherine is correct, there are many helpful people here.

Although I have had an interest and calling to hypnosis for the past 25+ years, I did not seriously pursue it until last year following early retirement. Not only have I found a new career that I now love, the study of hypnosis has enabled me to take a good look inside myself. There have been many times when people on this site have offered comments and advice which not only helped in working with clients; but also gave me pause to look in the mirror; to look beyond the surface and re-visit why I may feel, think, or react in a certain way. Life is a wonderful journey - but only if you are willing let go of the past and explore the beauty that it has to offer.
