I had the idea to contact my city's parks and recreations department about offering a self-hypnosis class in the fall. The process turned out to be a little similar to falling off a log.

There was a form on the web site that I filled out and submitted. The next morning I got a call, would I be interested in filling out some forms and could they have the completed forms back in two days?

The forms arrived - a course description and a lesson plan. I submitted a plan for a 4 lesson course on self-hypnosis for stress. That seems excessive in some ways, but one of the most important parts of effective self-hypnosis is practice. It takes twenty-one days to form a habit, classes make a reason to practice. Class 1 will essentially cover breathing and relaxing, Class 2 will discuss affirmations and add self-suggestion to the breathing, Class 3 will add an anchor in order to relax quickly and easily any time anywhere, and Class 4 will wrap it all up.

The next morning I got a call, would I be interested in coming in for an interview?

I went in for the interview, demonstrated my opening stress-buster exercise to the two people present, and discussed numbers and dates.

Yesterday afternoon I was notified about rates for three evening self-hypnosis classes a week, and one HypnoBirthing course. My classes are on the schedule starting in September and will be promoted and advertised by the city.

It isn't a huge money making engagement, but it's great exposure and I think it's exciting!
