I recently posted pictures of my new office on facebook. There's still more decorating to do, and I'm hoping to acquire a bit more furniture, but it's coming together.

James, it's beautiful.  I didn't know if the lights were really blue or if it was a photo effect.

You have many reasons to be proud.

I hope to have enough soft white lights in there eventually that I don't have to ever turn on the overhead flourescents. But that will come in time.

Very en-lightening, James! I also turn off my overhead florescent lights when it's "trance time"...I find myself sighing with relief, too.

Kelley--

My old office had light blue walls, which I found very soothing and pleasant. Clients always commented on how peaceful it was. You can see pics of it on my facebook as well.

I didn't have the option of blue walls in the new office, so I went with blue lights. The room itself has a harsh overhead flourescent--I like the softer light. I also find that the different light tells the client that they are entering a different reality, so when we switch from intake to hypnosis, I turn off the overhead light. (I used to have clients move from the intake chair to the hypnochair, but I no longer have room for a separate space.)

I may need to tweak the lighting, though--I've noticed some of my clients falling asleep and/or going so deep that they won't respond to interactive processes. So I may need to introduce a bit more brightness somehow.

As a side note, Ormond McGill talks about using blue light for hypnosis in his Hypnotherapy Encyclopedia. ;-)

Wow, James, you have wasted no time getting your new office space together! Looks very inviting. Tell me about the blue lighting and how it influences your work, please.
