the Free Hypnosis Social Network
First, sorry I've been away, but I have been diligently learning about publishing and included in that is going back and forth with the publisher while they create a "professional" press release. They send me a questionnaire, I respond, then ask me to explain, which seems to only lead to more questions... until, finally we are about ready to release it to over 1000 targeted media outlets.
To prepare for the release, I thought it would be nice to get some comments from people who actually understand hypnosis to post on the book's website, obviously with a link back to your site. I can email anyone interested a copy of the pdf that was used to print the book. It shouldn't take long to read, it's only 60 some pages.
If you want the "Cliff Notes" on the book, there are blog posts summarizing each chapter, but it basically boils down to using the apple from the fruit of knowledge as an expanded model of the mind with the skin of the apple representing the conscious mind, the flesh or meat of the apple as the unconscious mind, and seeds in the core as the super conscious mind, or creative core. Next I chunk sideways and use the Apple computer as a metaphor to teach self hypnosis techniques that will basically train the brain to focus on the desired goal.
I will check back daily and send out emails with the pdf attached to all those who respond.
I thank you in advance for helping me achieve my goals.

Comment by Carrol McHenry Jr on February 15, 2011 at 5:22pm Thank you both, your words are extremely encouraging! I must have missed the grammar error during proof reading... I would be happy to post your comments on the book's webpage linked back to your sites, with your permission.

"Easy, stimulating, and fun read. It is ideally suited for anyone who is looking for common sense human behavior theory and self-help techniques which exploit the benefits of self-hypnosis. Individuals with a strong background in computer technology will throughly enjoy the computer reprogramming metaphor." - Alonzo Cavazos
Comment by Kelley Woods on February 15, 2011 at 2:53pm Hi Carrol,
Thank you for sharing your manuscript. I did enjoy reading it and found it to be well composed for a layreader to comprehend. I especially liked your processes of learning to deal with emotional states.
One grammatical change I suggest: the possessive form of "it" is "its". ("It's" is a contraction of "it is"...)
Best wishes,
Kelley
Comment by Alonzo Cavazos, Ed.D., LCSW, LPC on February 15, 2011 at 11:26am Carrol: I read the entire manuscript and listened to both audio tracks. The book is an easy, stimulating, and fun read. It is ideally suited for anyone who is looking for common sense human behavior theory and self-help techniques which exploit the benefits of self-hypnosis. Individuals with a strong background in computer technology will throughly enjoy the computer reprogramming metaphor. The audio tracks helped me to reach a nice deep trance. And as nothing argues more forecefully than "success stories", the inclusion of 1 or 2 case illustrations, though not necessary, might strength the book's appeal for those seeking "proof positive".
Thanks for sharing your manuscript. Alonzo
Comment by Carrol McHenry Jr on February 15, 2011 at 7:02am Well, so far the one response I received (much appreciated) was that the hypnosis was good, but it needed to be more "polished".
I'm not one for flashy packaging because I was always taught not to judge a book by it's cover, and I've found that most products with flashy packages are designed that way to cover up the lack of real substance...
This book it written for the "common man" and not as a PhD dissertation. I designed it to be easy to understand using metaphors written in everyday language. It's a conversational dialog presenting a system that can be generic enough to apply to any situation. I'm casting a wide net...

The link didn't work. Please resend. When I clicked on the Friend Link, the other pdf link disappeared.
Thanks
