What to do with the last bookstore leaving Kauai?

I just found out that the Kauai Borders is on the list of the 200 stores that will be closed in light of the recent Chapter 11 Bankruptcy filings.  When my girlfriend told me she heard this on the radio I instantly had a wave of sadness and disgust flow through me.

There is a huge illiteracy rate here on Kauai, and this is definitely not going to help.  The only other book store on the Island is a small used book store, slightly bigger than my one bedroom studio.
