Here's a video of my good buddy Joe performing waking hypnosis, and a little trick that calls mind eraser (amnesia routine). He's got a very NICE set up for this. Takes seconds, and is totally innocent. He's a great stage hypnotist too, and get's my thumbs up! Please leave him a comment and encourage the young mind controllers!!! Thanks.

I love it.
Now can someone "present" still be hypnotized?

I want to BELIEVE it!
For I know I've seen it. And I know we have the tools to place someone anywhere in this spectrum that we want.

Maybe I'm just being a dreamer.... but I'm not the only one.

Maybe this word continuum from absent to present will help identify where on the spectrum we are?
absent
somewhere else
miles away
far away
not with us
oblivious
preoccupied
distracted
distrait
inattentive
absentminded
vague
abstracted
spaced out
in a world of one's own
with one's head in the clouds
dreamy
dreaming
wool-gathering
daydreaming
lost in thought
in a brown study
musing
thinking
thoughtful
engrossed
noticing
aware
all ears
wide awake
not missing a trick
alert
watchful
beady-eyed
concentrating
focused
intent
heedful
mindful
observant
on guard
vigilant
attentive
interested
approachable
accessible
available
in attendance
present

Appreciate the response Jay ...In my world Hypnosis shows are entertainment and folks that hire you and pay you usually want you to fill a place where they sell food and drink.. So actually No the folks in your audience who buy drinks are not all self selected to be super suggestible. They are self selecting to have fun and be entertained. I guess my suggestion to you is to know your target audience for that kind of effect, The words I used are yours ,,, not mine and you are correct. After honestly considering the effect those folks would be my targets if were to use your effect. Unfortunately I usually work in front of adults. but I might give it a shot again during Grad season.

Have fun with the game of Life. See you around because one of those playing pieces is Me

I think highly suggestible people are the best to pick for any hypnosis demonstration. Don't you agree?
Don't we send people down from the stage that don't pass our tests? (unless we chose to deepen, and try again?)
Don't we chose those who would look good on stage and play well?
Anyone with me on that... or am I missing out?
And sometimes, more than often I've found, that the ones who don't look susceptible end up playing big!

If you're doing Hypnosis shows, you don't need a "Darren Brown" style approach because you can do a full on post hypnotic in your show (Classic Amnesia).

Sure... it's not a perfect science. Even Darren Brown misses on one of the guys:

Hugh, I'm a bit confused about the Adults that buy drinks and pay for hypnosis shows...
Are they not super suggestible? Kinda seems like they would be for 2 reasons.

Anyway, Hugh, just playing the game of life here. Playing the odds. and Having fun with hypnosis.
Thanks for being active! Besides picking out your target participant, I hope you learn Mind Eraser and really give it an honest try. It really is a great routine.

hmmmm heard it .. ok .... So your targets are highschoolers ,,,, dumbblondes, airheads and super suggestible folk or did I get that wrong, Don't think it would play well with Adults that buy drinks and pay for Hypnosis shows.

Well done, great routine!

It's the most clever test ever. In fact, probably one of the funnest things I've been doing lately.

Joe calls it the heat test and you can do it right before doing the above.

Joe teaches the whole thing on a 14 track audio program along with other really good tips and performer's gold. Erased playing cards, and people's names too.

not sure if I can plug in an ad here, but you might need to message me directly for more info.

This is one of my favourite videos! Joe's style is effortless, and really entertaining. I love all the vids he has up on youtube right now.

Is this the whole set up, or is their other stuff in a pre-talk?
