Do you ever a wake from a dream and can't quite remember exactly where you were, or the details involved... but some time during the day an image or a feeling gently flows-forth, or something you see or something some one says triggers your memory? And suddenly you recall the scene as real as the world in front of you.
It's been said Dreams are windows to worlds beyond the ordinary. In looking at ancient holy scriptures from all faiths the visions and profound mystical experiences of the various Prophets ,holy men and women were actually dreams.
Now... if this is the case wouldn't we too benefit by decoding and demystifying the messages with in our own dreams? Imagine every time you sleep you get to tap in to this rich resource of information. With this very personal line of communication between the invisible and visible worlds, we can strengthen our personal guidance system and recognize our divine purpose in life. By learning certain techniques, We can also work out karmic lessons in a less threatening... more forgiving atmosphere...in the nonphysical Plane. which is devoid of any actual threats to the physical body. With the mortal fear of bodily harm out of the way , we can have amazing experiences of profound spiritual unfoldment on a rich and deep level. As a result we can easily gain more patience, and compassion for ourselves and others.
With all that said, one might ask... so how do we began to decipher and decode the meanings behind our symbolic dream metaphors? Many people ascribe to dream dictionaries. And while they do have their place as representative of our collective archetypal consciousness. Meaning that as humans on this planet we have a common origin and have amassed common ancestral experiences through out the eons... which are stored in our DNA . For more about this concept read my article

But to really understand your dreams one must understand what the metaphors or archetypes represent for you as an individual in example images of water in a dream: if someone is very comfortable with water, swims, and goes sailing as often as they can then seeing water would have a very different meaning than it would for someone who is terrified of water as a result of a near drowning accident as a young child.
Metaphoric symbols are the language of the subconscious mind... It's important not to second guess yourself and to examine the images in your dreams and decide what they mean to you at this particular moment in your life, not what they should mean... because things change moment by moment.
The main ingredient in understanding your dreams is trusting your own divine intelligence, recognizing that your dreams are a way in which the creator speaks to you, through the receptivity of your subconscious mind. The only differences between you and the men and women in the ancient scriptures, is that they were less distracted...and most importantly they trusted their innate divine wisdom.
" and it shall come to pass, afterward that I will pour out my spirit a pot all flesh and bone and your sons and your daughter's shall prophesy, and your old man show dream dreams, when you're young men shall see visions "
Joel 2:28
"And the angel of god spoke to me in a dream saying Yacub; and I said here I am
Genesis 31:11
Do this little exercise for trusting your own Divine Intelligence. Close eyes, Deep Breaths, think of a problem or something that you need to resolve in your life, now ask for the answer, what's the first image, sound or thought to come into your mind, got it? don't second guess. Now right it down, and keep it in a safe place, I know it probably has a connection to your solution in some way...keep you eyes open. and let me know by emailing me at tamara at illuminationssoultherapy.com...you are going to be amazed at how wise you are.

Gary Hu Guerra dream journey explorer and guide and I discuss ways to look at our dreams from a spiritual perspective. I have found that making a practice of studying my dreams I can handle daily challenges, as well as my most perplexing issues with ease and grace, and fun!
There are three types of dreams that correspond to the three REM(rapid eye movement) Cycles or periods of sleep.(You may want to print this and keep in with your dream journal).
1) Wishful thinking stage: The first 2 to 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Stuff from the day that we may replay in our minds light thoughts and surface things.
2) Precognitive stage: The middle of the night . Problem solving, this is when you're mine puts the puzzle pieces together of information in the subconscious. This is where you may have dreams that are psychic or predict the future. Because your subconscious mind is aware and knows all things...having access to all universal information past, present, and future through what is called the akashic record.
3) Venting stage : In the morning after a full night's sleep. This is where we process out old emotions thoughts been no longer serve us. Message units that are being removed. It's important to remember that a dream you remember in the morning after a full nights sleep it is most likely not predict of the future and is mainly subconscious trash that your mind is taking out to the Dumpster.
It's important to note that if you have nightmares or night terrors where you wake up in a sweat or with fearful feelings many times it's just as a result of having a blood sugar drop during our sleep time which causes an adrenaline rush and fearful feelings, sweating, rapid heart beat, which induces panic. Comparable to panic attacks experienced in our waking time. So if you experienced this often you may want to try having a before bedtime snack of dense protein food staying away from the high carb cookies, chips, and sugary drinks which can contribute to a dramatic blood sugar drop.
Dream Practice:
Keep a pen and journal next to your bed. During the last 20 minutes as you fall asleep right down a question pertaining to something you'd like to know or wish to figure out. Note the date and time. Lie down, close your eyes and ask your question repeatedly as you fall asleep. When you wake (what ever time it is) before your feet hit the ground right down the time and your dream, any images, emotions and feelings, people, activities, places or time periods and words. Remember the time of the dream has significance.
1) Wishful thinking : The first 2 to 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Staff from the day that we may replay.
2) Precognitive : The middle of the night . Problem solving, Psychic or Predictive.
3) Venting: In the morning after a full night's sleep.Processing out old Stuff that no longer services you.
