Does anyone have any tips on making your own hypnosis cd's?
where to manufacture? lowest costs? do you do it yourself? what programs to use?
I once had a link to a site where you could get cd's mailed to order for a really great price but I can't find it....
Also what about downloads, your audio recording online where is a good resource to find out how to do that? I would really appreciate the feedback, I am doing a business plan and I need projected costs and incomes.......

peace,
jilly

I do all my recording on my computer. I spent a couple hundred on a mic that works with my desktop and have audio editing software that I use.

Audacity is a free program that is good to start with, but if you are more advanced you can use programs like Pro Tools (for mac) or Sonar (PCs). Their are a lot of other programs out there you will probably get advice about that are just as good, it's more about what you are comfortable with.

I own a CD/DVD duplicator that copies and labels all my discs for me in sets up to 50 at a time. You can find a company to do it for you, but in small numbers the math get's tricky. My machine costs a little over $1,500 and has a convenience factor as well as instant gratification. From there CDs are a couple cents each.

What you want to look into is royalty free background music, and there are a few sources on this site to find them.

online downloads is a great idea, in my opinion. The best part about it is no real overhead or parts, once the product is up the client buys it and downloads it without you having to do a thing. Easy money. Setting it up isn't to hard (says the guy who's online store has been down for 6 months while he builds this site instead). Really, you could spend $1,000 and have a brand new site, with a store all made for you professionally. You can also do it for half that if you are on a budget.

My mp3 downloads cost 19.99 and my CDs are 29.99 plus shipping and handling.

You may want to wait on buying the copier/labeler that I have while you are getting started and keep your costs down. You can get away with that for a while. If you get so busy you need it, you will be able to afford the upgrade.

Hope that helps,

You can buy a 100.00 printer from epson, it does a good job but prints slowly
blank printable CDs you can buy from costco and if you are burning more then a few CDs a burner is nice but not necessary.

Although bulk printing options are nice and look great they are expensive and require you purchase an enormous amount of product. Having the ability to do short runs while you get your business running Is very nice

I print my own also. To lower the price dramatically, I bought a modified print cartridge system from http://inkproducts.com . I buy my ink in bulk, and he cost per disk becomes pennies. I have free teen labor, so I can get a dozen or more printed while I'm off running errands...

Hey Brian

thanks for this great link. I can honest say this is one of the best links for this subject as far as price. Ghee, I knew their was a reason I loved this site ;)

Okay, everyone else has said it, but I have to chime in: Kunaki looks to be awesome!

My band orders most of our music CDs in lots of 1000 to get the unit price down around $1 to $1.25. A unit price of $1.75 with no minimum is incredible, especially when you consider that hypnosis CDs sell for about twice what music CDs do.

Thanks, Brian!

Hi Jill,

I use a Sony digital voice recorder (under $200) with a stereo microphone to record. Then I use Audacity (Free Download) to mix my voice with royalty free background music. They sound is very good. For printing on the Cd's, I have a software program called Click & Design CD (under $25) that prints on sticky paper. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. This is a very affordable way to have Cd's.

I also use Audacity (great program) and RF music and currently print stuff with DECADry CD Labels software.
The thing that really got me excited about Kunaki though (as someone just coming into the business-side) is that they will fulfill orders on your behalf and there's no minimum order, it's a fantastic business model.
