While surfing google news and searching for recent hypnosis articles, I found some interesting quotes predicting the end of stage hypnosis. Does anyone agree, or are those interviewed in the article just posturing for the press?

Here is a quote from the article:
Shaun Brookhouse, of the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in England, said that image causes confusion. “It makes people believe that hypnosis will be quicker than other forms of therapy because of its ‘magical’ quality,” he said. “It creates natural misconceptions.”
Mr. Damon (Dwight Damon) believes that eventually hypnosis stage shows will be phased out.
The majority of hypnotists are high-level professionals, such as nurses and physicians, and work through hospitals, said Mr. Damon.

Does anyone else read this like I do? Does Damen really believe "stage shows will be phased out." Or is this just posturing for the press? And what up with the qote from Brookhouse... he seems to indicate that hypnosis is NOT faster than other forms of therapy, a point I would vigorously argue.
So what are your thoughts on this news story?
Is stage hypnosis over?
Is hypnotherapy as slow as other forms of therapy?
