Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm wondering if any of you use a more non traditional seating arrangement during your sessions. My clients are mostly pregnant women and recliners pose a whole host of problems, from putting pressure on important arteries to making babies more prone to moving into an unfavorable position. So, Im trying to come up with some other options. Couches often arent deep enough to support pregnant bellies while side lying, and if they are deep enough then they can cause the same type of issues as a recliner if the client chooses to sit. The only things that are coming to my mind are futons and maybe even a massage table. Does anyone use a massage/body work table? Or perhaps some of you are more creative then Im feeling right now and can think up some other options that would be professional.

The stuffed animal is useful in many ways. Healing their inner child, communicating to the baby, tactile bonding, visualization of child, and play/love. I have two sizes. there are some really nice feeling animals out there these days. Mine gets lots of attention especially from the Moms to be.

I have a "hypnobirthing' new mom in labor at this very minute!

Hi Alex, my office is contained within a Chiropractor's office. And I use a massage table for all of my work. I simply place a pillow under their heads and offer a blanket, or a pillow to place under their legs. I have had no problems from anyone. Doesn't really matter what size they are, I assist them in laying down if they need it. It works out wonderful for me.

Kenda.

Hi Kenda,

Do you use a massage table for your pregnant women?

Note: placing a pillow under your clients heads and offering a blanket, or a pillow to place under their legs is excellent, however for pregnant woman it is highly recommended to help her onto the table or mattress and for her and the baby's safety, she should lie on her side. Use pillows to support her in this position. Once she is comfortable and warm enough, begin the massage or the hypnotic session..
