Does the NGH Approve of any Home study courses for Certification?

Hi everyone,

My sister lives in Louisiana and she won't be able to make my class until June of next year. (i just got my state approval for my hypnosis School in Texas!!! I'll be teaching 5-PATH!!!)

SO....We are looking for an on-line or a home study course she could take that is very reasonably priced and that would be acceptable to the NGH so she could get her certification with them also.

The laws in Louisiana are very lenient for hypnotists and she is a nurse so she should have no problem practicing. She is very interested in using hypnosis in her work.

Also, to all the nurses I wonder what your favorite trainers have been for medical hypnosis and pain. I love Seth Deborah Roth, Melissa J Roth and Ron Eslinger. Who do you like recommend?

Permalink Reply by Brian David Phillips on August 22, 2008 at 5:03pm: Celete, the home-study program that Jerry offers is very comprehensive and the certification is through the National Board of Hypnosis Education and Certification IS accepted by the NGH for cross-certification, at least it was years ago when I got my first certification from the NGH (although I am no longer a member so can't speak to current policies).

I found on the membership page at the ngh that you can become an uncertified member if you do a home study course or a distance learning one. You can apply for certification later once you get your classroom hours.

Just thought I'd pass that one. Go to www.ngh.net and click on member renewal. AHHH why didn't I go there to begin with hmmmm?

I teach a 9-month course in client-centered hypnosis, based on the teachings of Charles Tebbetts (and updated with my own professional experiece). Although I recommend some "hands-on" training, I offer 2/3 of my course in home study format.
