Hi Everyone:

I invite you to share some of your favorite ambiguities. Keep them mostly clean please! ;-)

I'll start with these two...

"Have a good one!" (I have a good one. I just need a better one.)

"Speaking to you as a professional..."

All the best
-Lane

As you sit there noticing the light around you, you can begin to feel your back where it touches your chair. Feeling the temperature of the room around you, you may notice just how comfortable you are in this climate. When the sensation of your mouth beginning to dry becomes most apparent, you can begin to wonder...what exactly...you know...it's easy...to be free...yourself...from those memories...that you have...to realize now...that your unconcious...and mind you...knows...what you Have...to use...your own improvement...right now...as a lesson...to keep you...here and now...hold that thought...for the rest...of your life...feels light...as you...never mind...it's not important, too...remember...to forget...those things...you don't Need...to remember...that you will...awaken, with that...refreshing calm feeling...that you sometimes feel...this right now...lets you awaken to the feeling of your chair beneath you, and the gentle sounds of the room around you.

Nice.. but you might want to use "mays" instead of "cans".. this is known as 'permissive'

I love this. In fact, I copied it. I can forget and resort to direct, direct...lol.

Thanks,

"Been there done that" (Been where Done what)

Been in the situation you just described and done (or experienced) what you described.

At least, that's how I always use that phrase and have experienced it being used by others...

ooh, I get to use one of my favourite ambiguous phrases.
:o)

"Fruit flies like bananas"

Multitude of possible interpretations to this one!

I appreciate your inviting post, Lane. I suppose the other question, to my mind, would be how much I favor those favorites.

Conrad

Conrad - okay, that sent me into a trance. :-)

I LOVE this one!

I favor my game leg - it's no longer game for everything I am game for!

(bad linguistic pun: Can a hypnotist use a dangling participle as a fixation object? - answer - No. A participle is never an object - the time for that is past as it would have been a past participle!)

Happy 4th of July!
