Can the book known as The Kybalion written by Three Initiates (go figure why they call themselves this way) have any relations to Hypnosis? I read a small portion out of it and I feel that it has a hint of what hypnosis is all about! Just to let you know!

Hi:

I read the book in 1989 as part of my Hermetic studies with B.O.T.A.. There is a strong relationship in some of it to both Hypnosis and NLP. Refreshing myself a bit on this, Chapter III, Mental Transmutation, talks about the Alchemy of Mind in particular - and in modern-day terms, as the work explains, this moves beyond the ordinary realm of psychology and medical science, which being not understood by the latter pair, is often critisized as nonsense by them. Sounds like hypnosis to me!

So, in certain terms, those of us who practice as hypnotists and NLP'ers today are somewhat moving into those so-called "mystical" areas. The three "Initiates", one of whom was the founder of BOTA, Dr. Paul Case, probably didn't practice hypnotism as we do today, but the study materials they produced relative to the workings of the mind have proved for me, at least, to be of great value when working with clients now.

If you haven't studied "occult" metaphysics, the book can be tough, slow reading. I had been studying for about eight years when I read it, and at that time, it pulled so much of what I had studied together, I thought my mind was on fire. I probably should blog about that experience, rather than continue here with it, though.

In Light,
Sheila

One of my favorite books brother. I agree in large part with the previous post...in fact, I think she hit it right on the head. The sciences of the universe are the sciences of the mind. Why don't you go ahead and finish it and let's build on it. I think I will go ahead and re-read it myself for the sake of.
