Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

Greetings. I'm grateful to Melissa for inviting me to join this forum. Just got a call from a potential client with tinnitus, a ringing in the ears that's getting worse and keeping him from sleeping. He says the ENT doc. has told him there is some water behind his ear drum and there's nothing medically to do.

I have some ideas -- at the very least I know hypnotherapy can help him reinterpret the ringing; perhaps guided imagery could help him muffle it.
Does anyone have any experience with solving this problem?

John Melton, whom you can find through the HMI directory, specializes in tinnitus. Go on that website (hypnosis.edu) and drop him a line. He a nice guy. You might have to pay him for his time but he's very, very good at what he does.

I took the 101 course at HMI -- they have some great people.

In the meantime, I found a resource on Paul Durbin's site in an article by Kevin Hogan, whose material was helpful and will get his book if the client actually books an appointment...
