Parable's are always a good way for people to discover how Jesus used hypnosis to speak to people. (imagery)
You might want to check out HMI's free course to get started

Hi David. Glad to make your acquaintance. I noticed that you're in Escondido, which is where my counseling center office is located. I appreciate the noble cause you're involved in.

Since you work with disaster response, you might be interested in the book, "The Worst Is Over: What to Say When Every Moment Counts--Verbal First Aid to Calm, Relieve Pain, Promote Healing, and Save Lives"
by Judith Acosta and Judith Simon Prager (Paperback - Mar 1, 2002)
I recently discovered it, and it's extremely interesting.

I use hypnosis as a second career, like the Apostle the Tentmaker Paul, which allows me to provide leadership to a small church that couldn't afford a fulltime minister.Second, with my recordings I have made distinctly Christian hypnosis sessions to strengthen the Faith of the listener.Third,I use hypnosis in pastoral counseling with the agreement of the client/parishioner.Fourth,some of my church members have come to me in my secular practice for help with wt.or smoking,I have chosen not to charge them and to view it as part of my ministry to the church. Many Charismatic or Fundamentalist Christians are afraid of hypnosis, however in Central IL.Medical professionals have used hypnotherapy well for a long time here,so your mainline churches are more accepting.

Hi David... We have definitely got to have lunch. I would be very happy to share with you how Hypnosis and NLP can assist you with your clients. During and immediately after a disaster people are very often in what is often referred to as "Hypersuggestibility" and the language that you use (what you say and how to say it) has a tremendous effect on many, many different levels. I would be very happy to discuss more with you about it. :-)

I also commend you for seeking out complimentary methods to add to your expertise.

I am also planning to teach a one day course on what is called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) in the near future. It's a very simple to learn technique and very effective. Feel free to ask me about it further if you like...

Finally, you may/may not be aware but I am the president of The San Diego Hypnosis Network and you are always welcome to come to our free events and practice groups that we hold once a month. You can join here if you like...

Welcome!
I would recommend Gerald Kein's work (Omni Hypnosis Center), but I'm afraid to put Kein & Ebel together!
Consider Tom Silver's material, who's excellent, in your neck of the woods. See the vids he put up today, see his training style, small classes, relatively reasonable.
